Mechanical Engineer Lead (PE)

About the role

V2X is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Lead (PE) to oversee mechanical and HVAC systems for facilities on Ascension Island. The role involves planning, analysis, optimization, and lifecycle management of mechanical infrastructure to ensure reliability, safety, and mission readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Advise mechanical technicians in troubleshooting system malfunctions.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review preventative maintenance plans to meet OEM standards.
• Perform capacity management and maintain building calculations for load requirements.
• Ensure building modifications comply with code requirements and original design intent.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert for mechanical, HVAC, and interior utility systems, including cooling, heating, ventilation, and elevators.
• Provide technical guidance across operation, maintenance, repair, compliance, recapitalization, and demolition phases.
• Evaluate and recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacements based on condition assessments, mission dependency, and asset lifecycle status.
• Lead the Sub‑Activity Management Plan (Sub‑AMP) for HVAC and mechanical systems, contributing to long‑term investment strategy and risk‑based prioritization.

Required profile

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience in mechanical systems and facility lifecycle management.
• Ability to lead HVAC and mechanical Sub‑AMP activities.
• Strong knowledge of code compliance and OEM standards.
