Firefighter – Ascension Island

About the role

V2X is seeking a qualified Firefighter to join its team on the USSF base on Ascension Island. The role provides fire and emergency services across the island, supporting both structural and airport operations while ensuring safety in hazardous environments.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to structural, airport and Haz‑Mat incidents on a rotating schedule.
• Operate firefighting equipment such as pumps, foam generators, boom and ground‑sweep nozzles.
• Perform auto‑extrication and provide victim/patient care.
• Conduct daily preventive‑maintenance inspections of vehicles and equipment.
• Follow Air Force Fire and Emergency Services Training Program (AF EMSTP) and AFI 32‑2001 certification requirements.
• Use protective gear when dealing with poisonous gases, radioactive or biological hazards.
• Participate in scheduled fire drills and attend required training.
• Perform any additional duties as required.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; graduate of an accredited firefighting school (IFSAC or NPQS).
• Minimum 2 years experience as a firefighter, including Firefighter I & II, Airport Firefighter (ARFF) and Haz‑Mat awareness.
• Valid CPR certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Pass entry‑level physical exam per NFPA 1582.
• Valid driver’s license from country of origin.
• English proficiency demonstrated by TOEFL or IELTS.
