Backend Engineer – Node.js & TypeScript

About the role

Deel is seeking a Backend Engineer to help build and scale its all‑in‑one payroll and HR platform for global teams. You will work on core services that power payments, compliance, benefits and more for millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, designers and QA to deliver seamless end‑to‑end features.
• Participate in product planning from discovery through deployment, influencing the software development lifecycle.
• Design, implement and maintain robust APIs and backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve bugs quickly, maintaining high reliability and performance.
• Ensure code quality and customer‑centric outcomes through thorough testing and best‑practice engineering.

Required profile

• Strong experience in backend development with a focus on Node.js and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of JavaScript best practices and modern development patterns.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional, fast‑moving environment.
